Why should I publish with EverImagine Books?
We offer higher royalty rates compared to most publishers–see below on this page. We market and advertise our books globally to hit bestseller categories across many markets around the world. We price our books to be competitive in both the traditional and indie markets. We are consistently managing keywords and SEO for our books. We have an in-house rights team who works tirelessly to sell the subsidiary rights for our books. We are able to get our books out to the market more quickly which means our authors are earning royalties more quickly. With our children’s books, we market heavily to libraries and library apps. At times we will place the eBooks in Kindle Unlimited.

Can I submit more than one query at a time?
No. If you submit more than one query at a single time, then we will not read any of your queries. However, if you’ve submitted a query and haven’t heard from us within 6 weeks then you may submit a new query, but not for the same manuscript.

Can I submit a book that has previously been published?
NO. At the EverImagine Books imprint, we DO NOT accept previously published material.

Do you accept submissions from authors and illustrators worldwide?
Yes, as long as you’re able to receive payment via PayPal. You can view the available countries here: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/country-worldwide

How soon will I hear back about my full submission?
Once we have requested a full manuscript for review, you will hear a decision from us within 12 weeks. Please do not send a follow-up as we are unable to respond to every query and submission. If you do not hear from us within 12 weeks, then you can safely assume we are not interested in publishing your manuscript or we’re not interested in your illustrations.

Do you offer traditional print runs?
Not at this time. Our print books are Print-On-Demand and they are made available to thousands of independent bookstores, online stores, chain stores, libraries, and universities to include in their catalogs. Utilizing Print-On-Demand allows us to offer higher royalty rates than most publishers and it gives us the ability to put more money into marketing and advertising for each of our books which means more money for our authors and illustrators in the long run.

Do all books go to print?
Yes, all Picture Books, Early Readers, Chapter Books, and Middle Grade Books will go to print via Print-On-Demand.

Do I have to pay to publish with Harbor Lane Books or its imprints?
No. We are a royalty-paying publisher so we pay our authors, our authors do not pay us.

Where are EverImagine Books available for sale?
Most major online retailers, including but not limited to: Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Everand, GooglePlay, Kobo, OverDrive, and Smashwords. Some eBooks will be made available in Kindle Unlimited.

What are the basic terms of your contract?
Our Agreement is for seven years from the date of publication. If we sell subsidiary rights for your book, the Agreement is automatically extended to fulfill the third party agreement(s). No exceptions.

We offer extremely competitive royalty rates because we want our authors and illustrators to build long-term, fruitful careers with us. We also believe in transparency, so please see the breakdown below:

AUTHORS ONLY
— 25% net receipts on eBook sales.
— 10% net receipts on print book sales.
— 25% of Kindle All Stars Bonuses.

Subsidiary Rights:
— Audio Rights 50%
— Merchandising Rights 25%
— Foreign Translation Rights 25%
— Film/Motion Picture/TV/Dramatization Rights 50%
— Other Subsidiary Rights 25%


AUTHOR – ILLUSTRATORS
— 50% net receipts on eBook sales.
— 30% net receipts on print book sales.
— 50% of Kindle All Stars Bonuses.

Subsidiary Rights:
— Audio Rights 50%

— Film/Motion Picture/TV/Dramatization Rights 70%
— Other Subsidiary Rights 50%

We pay royalties on the following schedule:
If Publisher receives payment in January, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of February.
If Publisher receives payment in February, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of March.
If Publisher receives payment in March, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of April.
If Publisher receives payment in April, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of May.
If Publisher receives payment in May, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of June.
If Publisher receives payment in June, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of July.
If Publisher receives payment in July, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last of August.
If Publisher receives payment in August, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of September.
If Publisher receives payment in September, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of October.
If Publisher receives payment in October, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of November.
If Publisher receives payment in November, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of December.
If Publisher receives payment in December, then Publisher pays Author and Illustrator by the last day of January.
